Competition motivates us by giving us benchmarks to beat. But like salt, only the right level is ideal. For real mastery, competition stops being an external race and becomes a state of mind
Loved this piece , so relevant and much needed especially in today's corporate world where hallmark of success is 'competing externally and and moving ahead of others / peers' . More often than not we see leaders equating careers to sport stating - 'There is only one gold medal , and that separates winners from losers' ,and the external validation of this gold win becomes the focal point. However , pivoting career and life goals to what gives you joy and satisfaction and becoming better at it everyday is as much a success , in-fact more sustainable in the long run.
